Early Detection of Clinical Deterioration on General Floors: The Role of Continuous Monitoring

It is estimated that 50% of in-hospital unplanned mortality can be prevented. Early detection of clinical deterioration and timely interventions leads to prevention of cardiac arrests and death. The symposium will discuss the importance of timely recognition of clinical deterioration on the Medical Surgical Floor, and describe the importance of continuous monitoring, strategies for implementation, and the evidence supporting its benefits.
